California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund has created a free resource center for employers, whether they are policyholders or not, to prepare their businesses for the next phases of COVID-19 reopening and help to avoid penalties from Cal/OSHA.
State Fund’s resource is in response to Cal/OSHA’s five new emergency regulations to protect workers from COVID-19, which all businesses are required to implement. As of Feb. 1, the grace period will end and business who do not comply are susceptible to monetary penalties.
The resource center includes:
- Step-by-step guidance on the steps for employers to take if an employee reports a positive test or symptoms of COVID-19.
- A template COVID-19 Prevention Plan, which is now a requirement for employers
- Detailed measures/steps for employers to implement in workplaces to reduce COVID-19 exposure risks
- Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the new regulations
