Salem, OH, December 1, 2015 – Kent State University announced that it recently graduated the first of its majors in its Insurance Studies bachelor’s degree program.

Kent State University’s Salem Campus created the new degree program in 2012 and Dr. Stephen Nameth, dean of the Kent State Columbiana County Campuses commented that the growth of the insurance studies program is outstanding. “It’s one of the few insurance-specific degree programs available in Ohio and it is the only program available completely online,” he said. “We’re devoting significant resources to expand this program and we’re excited about where this program is headed.”

Designed to give graduates significant insight across the insurance industry, the program offers concentrations in life and health and property and casualty tracks. It also offers a track in which graduates gain a significant head start on earning the prestigious CPCU designation offered by the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.

Available through any of Kent State’s eight campuses in Northeast Ohio, or entirely online, the bachelor’s degree in Insurance Studies is an ideal way for traditional students to enter the $1.1 trillion insurance industry. The online option makes this an excellent program for those already working in the insurance industry who want to further their careers and establish themselves for leadership roles with their current industry employer.

This four-year bachelor’s degree program is offered by one of the largest accredited universities in the United States and is available at any of Kent State University’s eight campuses or entirely online.
