If you do property casualty insurance, I'd recommend taking an AICPCU course. For life/health, an American College course. Sure, they can be expensive, but some of the stuff they offer counts towards designations. I took Insurance & Financial Planning through The American College and I fulfilled 17 credit hours (I think... It was a lot!) I'm taking CPCU510 right now and will test on Monday. It also offers a lot of credits. If you're looking for something just for the credits, I'm sure you can find something good through local state insurance associations.
