Right now i am a captive agent with United American Insurance, I am concentrating on medicare supplements as well as final expense insurance, Right now in the area of ohio i am in i find that most seniors are being pushed from medicare supplements to medicare advantage plans because of high premiums and lack of RX help. While UA dosent offer any medicare select policys or medicare advantage plans i have been approached by several other carriers to offer their services. I am captive and dont have the funds necessary to sustain myself lead and office spacewise right now, however i am thinking about selling their plans as well because it seems to make sense to have more choices for my clients than one company. Can i be legally challanged by my current company if i start offering another carrier? Would another company care if i am appointed with UA? What would the wise board do if they were in my situation??

You will have to really review your UA contract. Most likely if you are captive and using their resources (office space, leads, support, etc..) you will not be able to push a competitive product.
