Producer Pay

Post by Joe Agent »

Can anyone tell me what personal lines producers in Southern California are making?

Thank you for your input.

How do you get paid? Salary, commission, or both?

I think 30K is just a little bit lower, should be more like 40k. Sure you have agents making less but I think the average agent that's been doing insurance for at least 2-3 years is making around 40K.

most companies pay you hourly plus bonus or commission.

I am quoting colleboard.com

Compensation
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, insurance agents earned an average of $56,310 in 2004.

Brokers may be paid by commission alone. Commissions are a fee paid by the insurance companies for each policy sold. Agents might also earn a commission in addition to a base salary
