Homeowner Roof Loss - put it in the policy!

Post by MrBill »

I would really like to see ISO standardize roof loss on homes. Why not put it in the policy that a 10 year old roof gets depreciation on a sliding scale. That way when the guy next door gets a brand new roof you get one without the argument or everbody gets to share. What I'm saying is we need to standardize the roof claims. So either every homeowner get s a new roof or every homeowner gets partial payment.

You said: "That way when the guy next door gets a brand new roof you get one without the argument or everbody gets to share."

That makes no sense.

MrBill, your argument would make sense for a (good neighbor fence) because it's shared property. Yes old fences are depreciated. HO-3 policy is a 100% replacement cost form and that applies to a private detach home Roof. Detach roof is not depreciated... 8)
