Interboro Mutual Indemnity Co. Names President and Chairman of the Board

The Board of Directors of New York-based Interboro Mutual Indemnity Insurance Company announced the election of William S. Gibson as president, CEO and as a member of the Board.

At the same meeting, the Board of Directors also elected Henry W. Dwyer to serve as Chairman of the Board.

Gibson brings to Interboro over 40 years of experience in the insurance field. During this time, he has served in many positions, including Deputy Superintendent of the New York State Department of Insurance, Vice President of Continental Insurance and Vice President of the American Insurance Association.

As Chairman of the Board, Dwyer will utilize his years of public service and knowledge of the public and private sector to serve Interboro in its growth and future plans.

Interboro Mutual Indemnity was formed in 1914 under the name Brewers Mutual Indemnity Insurance Company, providing workers’ compensation insurance for brewers injured in the line of work. Having changed its name to Interboro in 1919, the company began offering its services to other industries and expanded its services to include private passenger car coverage.
