The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc. announced that Steven Reichman, CIC, executive VP of NIA Group LLC in Somerset, will receive the association’s “Distinguished Insurance Service” award at its annual conference to be held at Bally’s Atlantic City, June 8-10.

“The Distinguished Insurance Service award recognizes an individual who has established a history of service, dedicated leadership and attention to the concerns of independent agents and their clients, said the announcement. “Reichman will be honored for his efforts and commitment demonstrated during his service in the insurance industry.”

Reichman, an active member of the PIANJ, was the association’s president in 2001-2002. He currently serves as chairman of the Nominations and Golf Classic Committees, and is also a member of the Membership/Program Marketing, Conference, Education and Executive/Budget & Finance Committees, as well as being a member of the Advantage and Auto Task Forces and the Northeast Advisory Council. He is also on the board of Governors of the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.

In 1999, Reichman was named PIANJ’s Director of the Year. This award is presented by PIANJ to honor the hard work and dedication of a member of the association’s board of directors who has contributed significant time and talent to support the association and its many programs.

“Steve has been an effective and respected leader in the insurance industry,” stated David Madara, CPCU, AAI, president of PIANJ. “This award commemorates his dedication and hard work on numerous issues critical to insurance providers and consumers. His dedication and loyalty to PIANJ and its members is to be admired.”

Reichman commented, “I am honored to be recognized by PIANJ for my work in the industry and for doing something I enjoy. It is truly an honor to be recognized by my peers in the insurance industry.”
