McIntyre Group Named ‘Vendor of the Year’

The McIntyre Group announced that the company had been named “Vendor of the Year” by St. Louis-based, Vi-Jon Laboratories Inc., a private label manufacturing operation in the U.S.

President Tony McIntyre commented that “This recognition from Vi-Jon is a reflection of our company’s passion for client service. Vi-Jon shares our commitment to quality service in their customer service practices and also emphasizes attention to detail.” He added, “The ongoing dedication of our sales team to finding high quality, corporate clients has given us the ability to fund controlled growth and recruit some of the most talented people in the industry.”

The McIntyre Group was honored at Vi-Jon’s annual “Vendor Appreciation” luncheon in February. The event was attended by more than 200 Vi-Jon vendors ranging from chemical suppliers to packaging firms to service providers.

In the presentation ceremony, Vi-Jon Vice President Robert Hess commented on the selection of The McIntyre Group by stating, “When it comes to choosing an insurance partner, we wanted to do business with a professional risk management team that shares Vi-Jon’s fundamental business values: reliability, responsiveness and outstanding follow-through.”

Company continues to expand
Since December, The McIntyre Group has added to their national account roster one of the largest national security companies for U.S. Government facilities, two major medical products manufacturers (one being a public company) and a nationally recognized college. “Winning a national security company approved by the Federal Government is a meticulous undertaking,” McIntyre explained. “Our team did extensive research and conducted a complete risk evaluation to secure this large multi-state account.”

The company, based in New Jersey, continued to expand its book of business during the first quarter. The McIntyre Group was selected as broker of record and subsequently bound a large, East Coast manufacturer that specializes in manufacturing and distribution of intravenous medical products and a publicly-held medical products company based in Eastern Pennsylvania that manufacturers a new ultrasound product.

In the past two months, The McIntyre Group has also added to its growing staff of professionals. Anthony Tomassetti, a seasoned technical underwriter with an extensive background in systems and training, joined The McIntyre Group from the Boston-based brokerage, William Gallagher Associates where he served as vice president and head of the firm’s Columbia, S.C. office. His new title at The McIntyre Group is vice president, Risk Management and Education. Prior to Gallagher, Tomassetti worked for 17 years for The Graham Company in Philadelphia.

Also joining The McIntyre Group this past month as an assistant account executive is Joelynn Owens. Owens has relocated to New Jersey from Memphis, Tenn. where she was a customer service manager for the firm, Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, LLC

On July 1, The McIntyre Group (www.mcintyre-group.com) will expand its Cherry Hill headquarter office space to accommodate its growing staff and the increasing demand for client services. In addition, Crum & Foster, a subsidiary of the Fairfax Company and One Beacon Insurance Group recently appointed The McIntyre Group as authorized agents for the P/C carrier groups.
