MFX Roanoke Inc. (MFX) announced the acquisition of Atlantic Mutual’s data center facility in Roanoke, Virginia.
Under the arrangement, which became effective Jan. 1, 2005, MFX provides complete, on-site data center processing services to Atlantic Mutual from MFX’s new operation. Atlantic Mutual will continue to maintain its technology and customer service center in Roanoke.
Raymond Roy, chairman & CEO of MFX, stated, “From the start of negotiations, the relationship between our companies was a match. MFX will use our technical and insurance experience to improve both operating and bottom line results for Atlantic Mutual. We look forward to a long and mutually rewarding future together.”
In addition, MFX will offer data center services to the marketplace beginning immediately. Offerings will include mainframe outsourcing and server hosting with complete services such as: migration/conversion, help desk, account executive and disaster recovery, to name a few.
“We view this arrangement as a strategic advantage,” added Klaus Dorfi, chairman & CEO of Atlantic Mutual. “It gives us a more economical, efficient and flexible way to manage our data center needs as we concentrate on writing affluent personal lines business.”
Atlantic Mutual’s proprietary business software applications will continue to be owned, developed and enhanced by Atlantic Mutual.
