National Flood Insurance Program Offers Free Seminars for Penn. Agents

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) said it is offering insurance agents free training seminars on flood insurance in several locations across Pennsylvania.

The seminars will cover basic insurance issues and also focus on how best to assist NFIP policyholders after a flooding event. The seminar is approved for three hours of Pennsylvania continuing education credit, and meets the state’s minimum flood insurance training requirements.

Topics to be covered include:
• Standard Flood Insurance Policy’s major coverage areas
• Federal Emergency Management Agency’s elevation certificate
• Grandfather rules
• Preferred Risk Policy (PRP) eligibility extension

Agents can register online at www.h2opartnersusa.com/nfiptraining/pennsylvania.html. Interested agents are advised to register early because seating is limited. The sessions are from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The dates and locations are as follows. All classes are held in Pennsylvania locations:
