New York Police Issued More Than 10K Tickets Over July 4th Weekend

New York state troopers say they issued more than 10,000 tickets over the July 4th holiday weekend.

State police once again this year beefed up enforcement against holiday drivers who were impaired, distracted, speeding or who were not buckled up. The result was 10,759 tickets issued Friday, July 3, through Monday, July 6.

Troopers issued 4,523 speeding tickets and arrested 198 people for driving while intoxicated.

Two people were killed in accidents.
