Marsh announced that three new executives – Steve Powney, Steven Lewis and Tricia Burgess – have all joined its International Surety Practice from Aon’s Surety and Guarantee team.
Powney will lead the International Surety Practice for Marsh in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), while Lewis and Burgess will focus on developing Marsh’s pan-European surety business among the region’s largest companies.
Powney had worked at Aon for 10 years and was Managing Director of the firm’s Surety and Guarantee team. He has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, specializing in lending and guarantees.
Lewis has been appointed as Senior Vice President. He was previously a Director in Aon’s Surety and Guarantee Practice for 15 years. He has worked in the UK, Continental Europe and US in various surety and underwriting roles.
Burgess joins Marsh as Vice President. She was previously a Senior Bond Administrator in Aon’s Surety and Guarantee Practice for 19 years.
Powney noted the current “credit uncertainty,” and added that “surety bonds essentially provide a third-party endorsement of a firm’s financial well-being, which undoubtedly adds a competitive edge.”
