New York-based U.S. RE Corporation, the international reinsurance brokerage firm, has formed a strategic alliance with Bruno Sforni S.p.A, an insurance and reinsurance broker located in Milan, Italy. The Company followed up that news with the announcement that it has received a license to operate in Brazil [See IJ web site – https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/international/2009/10/08/104412.htm].
Tal P. Piccione, Chairman and CEO of U.S. RE, commented: “The combination of U.S. RE’s access to global reinsurance markets and Sforni’s prominence in the Italian insurance and reinsurance business will forge a productive relationship.” Riccardo Nicolini, Senior Vice President-International, will oversee U.S. RE’s role in the alliance.
Bruno Sforni S.p.A is one of the oldest insurance and reinsurance brokerage firms in Italy, having been in business for more than 100 years under the Sforni name. Sforni provides a wide range of property/casualty insurance with specialties in agriculture, banking, personal accident, and leisure boating.
Bruno Sforni, President and CEO of Sforni S.p.A indicated he was looking forward to the association with U.S. RE, indicating that it would “expand the range of services we offer our clients.”
