Top Insurance Journal International Stories of 2018

Mergers & acquisitions drew a lot of interest from the readers of Insurance Journal’s International section in 2018 with 11 of the top 25 articles focusing on Marsh & McLennan’s acquisition of JLT, AXA’s purchase of XL Group and AIG’s takeover of Validus.

The remaining articles in the top 25 ranged widely from coverage of Cyclone Luban in the Arabian Sea, to the move by some insurers to offer cryptocurrency theft cover, to the deadly Lion Air crash in the Java Sea. Other well-read articles covered sexual harassment in Japan, the concerns that Canadian oil companies have over the legalization of recreational marijuana and a speech by Grahame Chilton, the former CEO of Gallagher UK, who called on the industry to weed out rogue managing general agents.
