May 15, 2002

Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc., a specialty risk management company headquartered in Southfield, Mich., has been awarded a five-year extension to its service contract with the Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust (MCIT).

Originally created to provide counties with access to affordable coverage, the Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust is a public entity self-insurance pool that provides coverage or services to 83 of Minnesota’s 87 counties and more than 350 other entities. The program includes a Property/Casualty Division and Workers’ Compensation Division.

Skip Sherstad, Chairman of the Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust Board of Directors, expressed his pleasure in executing an extension of the contract with Meadowbrook Insurance Group. “The long term relationship between the two organizations has allowed MCIT to focus on enhancing services to its members,” Skip Sherstad, Chairman of the MCIT, commented. “The renewal of the contract demonstrates MCIT’s satisfaction with the role Meadowbrook plays in our delivery of these services to the membership.”

Meadowbrook President and Chief Executive Officer Robert S. Cubbin stated, “The MCIT has been a loyal client of Meadowbrook, and our team is looking forward to another five years of working together. This long term relationship has been a key ingredient to our mutual success.”
