Ind. Physician Accused of Insurance Fraud Found Dead

An Indiana physician charged with overbilling Medicaid and an insurance company by about $200,000 for work at his private practice was found dead at a Carmel hotel on December 21, police said.
Dr. David B. Kennedy, 55, a Cicero, Ill. resident who was the medical director of Logansport State Hospital and operated The Kennedy Clinic in Kokomo, Ind. had been expected to turn himself in to the police. Instead, he was found dead in a Courtyard by Marriott hotel off U.S. 31, Carmel police said.
Information about how he died or if foul play was suspected has not been released by authorities. Kennedy was charged with nine counts of insurance fraud, six counts of Medicaid fraud and one count of corrupt business influence.
