North Dakota Agent Accused of Creating Fake Policy Applications

May 18, 2012

North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm announced he has served a cease and desist order against Tim Everett, a Grand Forks area insurance agent who is alleged to have created fictitious insurance policy applications and to have been paid commissions for the policies.

The order bars Everett from engaging in the business of insurance.

The cease and desist order alleges that between March and April 2012, Everett contacted two Grand Forks businesses in an attempt to sell accident insurance policies issued by AFLAC. Everett allegedly applied for policies on behalf of clients for insurance products that they did not want, and was allegedly paid commissions for the insurance policies.

Everett has a right to request an administrative hearing on the cease and desist order within 30 days of issuance.
