Wisconsin Man Gets Jail for Bungee Jump at Insurance Company Site

November 19, 2014

A 26-year-old Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for bungee-jumping off a 138-foot crane in Sheboygan on the Fourth of July.

The Sheboygan County district attorney’s office says Nick Propson of Maribel pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of criminal entry onto a construction site.

Propson voluntarily reported to police four days after the jump at the Acuity Insurance site. Prosecutors say Propson already has paid $3,400 to Acuity to re-certify the two onsite cranes.

An Acuity manager had contacted police after seeing a video of the stunt that Propson posted on YouTube.

Police say several people performed the stunt, but authorities were able to identify only one other alleged participant, Benjamin Shibler, who faces a jury trial next month for unlawful entry.
