Chubb Launches New Ad Campaign

March 30, 2004

The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies announced that it has launched a new national print advertising program as part of “an aggressive personal insurance marketing campaign.”

The new ads are intended to further increase the awareness of the Chubb brand, especially in the high-net-worth personal insurance marketplace, and to support the sales efforts of Chubb’s agents and brokers.

“Chubb is reaching out to the thousands and thousands of Americans who have worked so hard to achieve their dreams. They deserve the peace of mind that comes with knowing that, in the event of a loss, they have partnered with a strong, stable and reliable company,” stated Eric Pruss, strategic marketing officer for Chubb Personal Insurance.

Chubb described the ads as employing “an elegant juxtaposition of images to contrast the ‘fragility’ of one’s dreams with the ‘solidity’ of insurance coverage from Chubb. In one, a beautiful woman with diamond earrings is profiled in a melting block of ice. In another, a dream home is reflected in a soap bubble. In a third, a yacht is glimpsed in silhouette through an eggshell balanced on a table edge.”

“Since one’s dreams can be easily damaged or destroyed, there is a peace of mind that comes from being adequately insured,” Pruss continued. “As our tagline, ‘Relax. You’re insured with Chubb,’ implies, Chubb will be there in the event of an insured loss. The independent agents and brokers who sell our products know this. Our customers experience this every time we pay a claim. It’s clear that Chubb provides a unique insurance experience for customers, beginning with the creation of tailored risk management solutions through the quick and equitable settlement of claims.”

The “dream” ads began to appear in upscale, national lifestyle magazines and art and collector publications this month. They are designed to enhance Chubb’s existing corporate advertising that stresses “peace of mind” as a Chubb brand attribute. The list of publications for the new ads includes: Atlantic Monthly, Art & Antiques, Conde Nast Traveler, ARTNews, Departures, The Magazine Antiques, Elite Traveler, Winterthur Magazine, The New Yorker, Sotheby’s Preview, The New York Times Magazine, New York Antiques & Fine Arts Guide, Opera News, Robb Report and Robb Report Worth.
