AEC Firms Can Learn from May Webcast

April 12, 2005

Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) firms have seen an 88% increase in the cost of professional liability coverage in the last three years, according to a recent survey by Zweig-White.

To help architects address this, RedVector.com, a provider of online Continuing Education for design and construction professionals, will present a free Webcast: Risk Management for the Design Professional at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 5. Architects can gain a free Continuing Education credit by attending the one-hour webinar, which is an AIA-registered course (RV667).

The Webinar will feature a presentation by Kent Holland, JD, principal of ConstructionRisk.com, and an expert on risk management in the AEC industry. Holland has 20 years of legal practice experience focused on construction risk management and design professional liability. He works as Risk Management Services consultant for the Environmental Design Professional Liability Unit of Arch Insurance Group, based in New York City.

In this presentation, participants will learn how to:

* Reduce liability by managing communication
* Recognize legal responsibilities for site safety
* Recognize the potential cost of “small print”
* Apply fair risk allocation methods
* Use insurance as a risk management tool.
