AIG Elects Senior Vice Presidents

The board of directors of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has elected three new AIG senior vice presidents and four new AIG vice presidents.

Hans K. Danielsson was elected senior vice president, Investments, and Daniel S. Glaser and Julio Portalatin were each elected AIG senior vice president, Foreign General Insurance.

Danielsson joined AIGGIG in 1998 and was elected vice president, Investments in 2002. As leader of AIGGIG’s equity teams, he is responsible for directing AIG’s equity investment activities worldwide.

Glaser is responsible for AIG’s general insurance operations in the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of AIG’s Domestic Brokerage Group, responsible for its North American Field Operations and Market Segments.

Portalatin has served as president of the AIU Accident & Health Division since 2002.

The board also elected the following vice presidents: Steven Guterman, who is currently senior managing director and head of Business Development for AIG Global Investment Group; Jeffrey L. Hayman, American International Underwriters (AIU) regional president and chief operating officer, Far East Region and chairman, AIU Insurance Co. Japan; Gordon Knight, AIG Domestic Brokerage Group Sales and Marketing Division president; and Raymond E. Lee, AIU Personal Lines Division president. The executives will retain their current responsibilities.

Guterman is responsible for AIGGIG global institutional asset management efforts, including business development, marketing, client service and product development.

Hayman has served as AIU regional president and chief operating officer, Far East Region since 2004 and chairman of AIU Insurance Co.-Japan since 2003.

Knight joined the AIG Companies in 1982. He has served since 2005 as president of the Sales and Marketing Unit of AIG’s Domestic Brokerage Group (DBG), responsible for the sales, marketing and communications functions of all DBG market segments.

Lee was appointed president of the AIU Personal Lines Division in 2002. He joined the AIG Companies in 1990 as AIU Worldwide Personal Lines underwriting manager, based in New York, and in 1992 was named AIU vice president, Personal Lines.
