AIG Cos. launched a new unit dedicated to providing insurance solutions for the U.S. trucking market.
AIG Transportation Solutions, to be headed by Lentz Merisier, director of Transportation Solutions, will provide a broad portfolio of insurance solutions to trucking operations of all sizes – from major fleets to owner/operators.
AIG Transportation Solutions will initially offer workers’ compensation, general liability, automobile liability, excess automobile liability, environmental/pollution, excess casualty, and occupational accident insurance to customers. The unit will also offer extensive property, infrastructure and mobile property coverage of all types to protect an insured’s cargo and mitigate the financial risk of physical damage to their fleets. A team of claims and loss control consultants will service the customer claims.
“The specialized brokers handling the complex requirements of the trucking industry can now come to AIG Transportation Solutions to access multiple lines of coverage for trucking fleets to keep them on the road,” said Steve Yockel, president, AIG Risk Management, Transportation. “We will work with our producers to provide a ‘one stop shopping approach’ as it relates to the delivery of products and services which satisfy the specific needs of the customer.”
AIG Transportation Solutions will launch with five industry focused, multi-line regional underwriting teams situated in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta.
