QBE North America and Jorgensen & Co., a specialist professional liability managing general underwriter, have formed an underwriting agreement to provide accountants and consultants professional liability insurance (APL).
According to Don Allard, senior vice president, Specialty Programs at QBE, this move expands QBE’s reach in providing liability coverage to accounting firms.
This new partnership is a continuation of QBE North America’s strategy to broaden its appetite for professional liability and errors and omissions business, according to Michael Phillips, commercial errors and omissions senior vice president.
Rickard Jorgensen, president of Jorgensen & Co., said his agencywas able to negotiate an upgrade on the coverage and service provided to its members.
Jorgensen, a managing general agency, is the exclusive source for APL coverage to accounting firms outside major international firms. Its APL program, branded as CPAGold, is written via the Professional Advisers’ Purchasing Group Inc. The program is offered in all states except Alaska.
Jorgensen specializes in firms of up to 50 CPAs but has the capability to underwrite larger regional firms.
QBE’s Specialty Programs unit partners with program administrators to underwrite management liability and professional lines for trade associations and affinity groups. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, QBE operates out of 38 countries around the globe. The North America division is headquartered in New York.
