Vista Insurance Partners Appoints Bishop as Senior Broker/Underwriter

August 10, 2004

Vista Insurance Partners, a San Antonio, Texas-based wholesale insurance broker, announced the appointment of Margie Bishop as senior broker/underwriter.

Bishop will work with current and new Vista agents to develop new business and retain existing accounts and will locate in Vista’s San Antonio office, 5750 Northwest Parkway, Suite 100.

“We are very excited to have Margie Bishop as part of the Vista team,” said James H. Levine, CEO of Vista. “She is well-known among independent agents in Texas for her problem-solving abilities and personalized service. She also has excellent relationships with key carriers.”

Bishop has more than 19 years experience in the insurance industry in commercial and personal lines. Prior to joining Vista, Bishop was a commercial property and general liability underwriter for Litchfield Special Risks Inc. in El Paso, Texas.

Earlier this year, Vista announced its plan to add 100 independent agents that specialize in property and casualty, professional liability and commercial auto to its Select Agent program in Texas, Oklahoma and several Southeastern states. The addition of Bishop enhances Vista’s capacity to service these new agents.

Launched in November 2002, the Select Agent Program started by paring down Vista’s agent base from approximately 2,000 agents to fewer than 300—who were named as Select Agents. This enabled the company to develop closer relationships with its clients, produce a higher level of service and enhance agents’ production efforts.

“Our clients see us as a true business partner that can bring expertise and creativity to the process,” Levine added. “We have developed an exceptionally strong broking and underwriting team that has enabled us to extend that positive relationship to agents who like this approach.”

Vista Insurance Partners traces its San Antonio roots to 1973 when it operated as Blanch Wholesale. Vista is a wholesale insurance broker with the expertise and industry knowledge needed by independent agents to meet the requirements of its business customers.

Headquartered in San Antonio, the company has offices in Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois.
