Magna Carta Companies announced its initial entry into the Texas and Midwest commercial lines insurance markets with the opening of new branch offices located at 13727 Noel Road in Dallas, Texas, and 303 West Madison Street in Chicago, Ill.
Dallas operations will be headed by Ed Smith, formerly of Firemans Fund, and well known in the Texas agency community.
Local operations for Chicago will be headed by John Mauman, a veteran underwriting manager in the Illinois and Indiana markets.
The underwriting focus in these territories will be the apartment, condominium, hotel and restaurant classes of business.
This is the latest expansion for Magna Carta Companies, which now writes commercial lines business in select territories throughout the United States. The flagship underwriter for the group is Public Service Mutual, which commenced business in 1925.
