Muesse Named ACSR of the Year by Texas Independent Agents Group

June 18, 2008

Kimberly Muesse, a senior account manager with the Lockton Companies in Katy, Texas, won the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas Accredited Customer Service Representative of the Year award at the trade association’s 111th Annual Conference & Trade Show.

“To say that this year’s ACSR winner is a commercial CSR would be a colossal understatement,” said Fred Steves, executive director of Myron F. Steves, award sponsor.

She holds all three ACSR designations plus the CISR and CIC designations. Muesse also holds seven certificates including ocean marine and inland marine, three associate certificates, and is working on the ACS, AMIM and CPCU designations.

Muesse is a senior account manager responsible for servicing complex contract reviews for major utility power purchase agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, and railroad easements.

“She has taught ACSR designation classes in addition to others. In her agency she is responsible for writing new procedures and training new hires in using the procedures,” said Steves.

A successful 24-year veteran of the industry, she credits her ACSR training with her continuing rise to greater and greater responsibilities.

Through the years’s she been asked to take on operational responsibilities in addition to her client-facing customer service work. In each of the past three years she has been recognized as Outstanding Course Leader from the AICPCU.

Steves explained that in her strong mentoring role she stresses the importance and value of communication — both speaking and listening, “To help assure accuracy and avoid misunderstandings, she uses a technique she calls Record and Recite, whether orally or in writing,” he said.

The ACSR of the Year receives a cash prize, a complimentary trip to the IIAT Conference and Trade Show, and has the opportunity to enter the National ACSR of the Year award program sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. The winner also receives complimentary educational materials from the American Institute for IIA/CPCU.
