ChoicePoint (NYSE: CPS), Alpharetta, Ga.-based provider of identification and credential verification services, has acquired Priority Data Systems, based of Omaha, Neb., a provider of comparative rating software solutions to the independent insurance agency market. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The addition of Priority Data Systems further strengthens ChoicePoint’s position a personal lines provider of an integrated array of insurance products and services to companies and agents, according to Richard Collier, vice president, ChoicePoint Property & Casualty personal lines.
Priority Data Systems was established in 1979. According to Maurice Flynn, president, in 2000 launched its PriorityRate.com comparative rater, which today includes quotes with automatically integrated information that improves the accuracy of comparative rating to improve agent efficiency.
