Citizens Activates Claims Hotline, Deploying Mobile Response Teams

October 24, 2005

With thousands of Floridians impacted by Hurricane Wilma, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation has activated its toll-free claims reporting hotline for policyholders to report property damage, according to Bob Ricker, executive director. The number to call is 1-866-411-CPIC (2742).

Ricker said Citizens is also deploying mobile response teams to southwest and southeast Florida to be available Wednesday to assist policyholders in local communities.

“Floridians across South Florida are suffering due to Hurricane Wilma,” Ricker said. “Our top priority is to help our policyholders begin the recovery process after this devastating storm.”

Citizens officials are advising policyholders to:

* Make temporary repairs as necessary to prevent further loss, keeping all receipts for reimbursement.

* Immediately report your claim at 1-866-411-CPIC.

Ricker said adjusters will respond to claims as soon as possible.
