Lockton Expands with North Carolina Office

Privately-held insurance broker Lockton is expanding its reach into the Carolinas by opening an office in Charlotte, North Carolina. The new office will provide clients with commercial insurance, risk management and employee benefits regionally, nationally and internationally.

Three executives will head the new office.

Blake Graeber, a risk management advisor with 35 years of experience, will serve as company vice president. He spent the last 15 years as the president and chief financial officer of Palmer & Cay in the Carolinas, a firm that was subsequently acquired by Wachovia and Wells Fargo.

Adams Withers joins Lockton as vice president after spending eight years with Aon Risk Services and Marsh. He has experience in the financial industry serving as an advisor to investor managers including private equity firms, hedge funds and real estate investors.

Lockton Charlotte’s Senior Vice President-Unit Manager is Steve Montgomery, who previously spent 29 years at Aon. He spent 10 of those years at Aon Risk Services for the firms Carolina operations. Prior to joining Lockton, he held a senior position at Pilot Insurance Agency, the predecessor to Aon.
