Universal Insurance Enters Georgia Homeowners Market

Georgia residents will soon have another choice when it comes to purchasing homeowners insurance.

Universal Insurance Holdings Inc. has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. has received the approval of the Georgia Department of Insurance to begin marketing homeowners insurance in the state.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company is one of the three largest writers of homeowners insurance in Florida and also operates in Hawaii, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The company provides underwriting, claims administrating, and exposure management services.
