Anchor Insurance appointed John Wortman as its new president and Kevin Pawlowski as its chief operating officer, effective February 9, 2016.
Wortman most recently served on Florida’s Citizens Insurance Corp.’s Board of Governors where he sat on numerous committees. Prior to this, Wortman served as leader and CEO of several insurance companies, including the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, American Mutual, Michigan Mutual, the Amerisure Companies and Anthem Property Casualty Companies.
Pawlowski has a background in business and accounting. He previously served as CEO of M P TotalCare, a national dispensing pharmacy company, where he was instrumental in increasing the company’s sales by $190 million and responsible for taking the organization from a 60-person operation to more than 1000.
The appointments of Wortman and Pawlowski are subject to approval by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
Anchor Insurance was formed to provide insurance to homeowners living in areas where options are limited due to losses from storms and widespread natural disasters. Anchor currently insures customers in a dozen states through two carriers: Anchor Property and Casualty Insurance Company and Anchor Specialty Insurance Company. The company is based in St. Petersburg, Fla.
