Brown & Riding Opens Office in Woodland Hills

November 15, 2004

Brown & Riding Insurance Services announced the opening of new offices in Woodland Hills, California, the firm’s third office location.

The new office, located in the San Fernando Valley northwest of downtown Los Angeles, allows the rapidly growing firm to expand its presence in Southern California, bringing Brown & Riding closer to some of its key clients, as well as insurance carriers located in the area. The new space will provide brokerage services for casualty, construction and property risks.

Peter Gorin, a vice president with Brown & Riding, will manage the new office. Gorin joined the firm in early 2004 with nearly 25 years of experience in commercial insurance, spending the last 14 years as a wholesale broker with Sherwood and Swett & Crawford. He also worked as a broker with wholesaler Crouse & Associates for five years, and as an underwriter with Sayre & Toso for five years.

Mel Maniquez will work closely with Gorin out of the new Woodland Hills branch as the office’s Client Service Manager. Maniquez has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience with AON, Great American, AIG, Zurich E&S, and The Travelers Group. Most recently, he was an account executive at CRC in Los Angeles.

“I’m confident that Peter’s leadership will make the Woodland Hills office one of our most successful divisions,” said Chris A. Brown, president of Brown & Riding. “His experience and proven dedication to teamwork and quality client service will ensure our clients continually realize greater value from our services. We’re also looking forward to expanding our employee base into the San Fernando Valley. Southern California’s size means a lot of qualified candidates live too far from downtown Los Angeles to make the commute, and now we’ll have access to a greater employee base of experienced individuals who share our vision and values.”

The new office contact information is: 21700 Oxnard Blvd., Suite 1460; Woodland Hills, Calif., 91367. Phone is (818) 710-3500; fax is(818) 710-3560.
