American Agents Alliance Welcomes Nigohosian as New Executive Director

November 29, 2004

The American Agents Alliance Board of Governors announced the selection of Ken Nigohosian as the association’s new executive director. Nigohosian was chosen from among a pool of the insurance industry’s best and brightest after an arduous search process.

He has amassed a nearly quarter century of expertise working for Safeco Insurance, climbing the ranks from the company’s personal lines manager in Los Angeles to his final position as Safeco Regional Manager – Personal Lines for California and Nevada.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ken aboard as the Alliance’s new executive director and are equally excited to be entering a new phase in our association’s evolution,” said Alliance President David Nielson, CIC. “Over the past year, the Alliance has undergone a metamorphosis and has refocused on our core strengths of member service, legislative and regulatory advocacy and, to quote our mission statement, ‘to serve and protect the independent insurance producer.’ Ken’s vision of the Alliance as California’s premiere independent producers’ association is exactly in line with that of the Board.”

In addition to his extensive experience on the company side, Nigohosian was a member of the Personal Insurance Federation and also served on the California FAIR Plan governing committee and the California Department of Insurance’s task force on development in underserved communities. Additionally, he was a liaison for Safeco’s regulatory and legislative efforts in California, as well as the company’s representative to the California Organized Investment Network (COIN).

“With his background in personal lines, combined with his legislative and regulatory committee experience, Ken is the ideal person to help move the Alliance in a positive direction and help our Former Safeco manager to assume association’s executive director position association become an more integral part of our members’ plans for success,” said Nielson. “The Alliance offers independent agents and brokers an incredible value, whether it is fighting for their interests in Sacramento or offering cost- and time-saving procedures for their business operations. With Ken as part of the equation, the value of an Alliance membership will keep increasing.”
