L.A. CPCU Chapter Installs New Directors

On June 14, Society Vice President Betsey Brewer of The Rule Company installed the newly-elected Officers and Directors of the CPCU Society’s Los Angeles Chapter. The installation, for the upcoming 2005-2006 year, was held at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles. Brewer was assisted with the installation by Society Regional Governor Mary King, Keenan & Associates.

New Officers are President Rod Simonds, Independent CPA; President-Elect Eunice Downing-Jackson; Mitsui Sumitomo Marine Management; Vice President George Wallace, Wallace & Schwartz; Secretary Reiner Braun, Marsh Risk & Insurance Services; Treasurer Wes Kwon, ISU-UNI Insurance Services; and Past President Tessa Lucero, Marsh Risk & Insurance Services.

New directors are Jim Brown, The Rule Company; John Chesebrough, Chesebrough Associates; Fabiola Irias, HB Intermediaries, Mary King, Keenan & Associates; Patricia Rosandich, The Hartford; Steve Shorr, Steve Shorr Insurance; Terri Ulbricht, Marsh Risk & Insurance Services; Paul Wagner, Gen Re; Joe Wetter, Wetter Insurance & Risk Management Consulting; and Robert Wilson, AON Risk & Insurance Services.

Millicent Workman, National CPCU Society President-Elect, was the guest speaker following installation. Workman discussed the Society’s long term strategic goals which include programs to increase visibility and awareness of the CPCU designation. An aggressive program is also planned to increase company connections visits with help from the various CPCU chapters and sections inside and outside of the United States. The increased diversity among our society members will also be recognized with the formation of a new National Society Diversity Committee.

She concluded by pointing out that the future challenges and opportunities of our insurance industry will further strengthen the importance of the CPCU designation.

Newly-installed Chapter President Rod Simonds ended the installation by citing immediate past president Tessa Lucero for her energetic leadership and tireless effort over the past year.
