Oregon/Idaho Profesional Insurance Agents Association Elects Officers

The Professional Insurance Agents of Oregon/Idaho Gary Steffen, vice president of Safe and Sound Insurance in Gladstone, Ore., and Amigos Aseguranzas in Portland, Ore., as the association president. He will serve as the organization’s president until June of 2009. The association also elected a new board of directors at its 41st Annual Convention and Trade Show recently held at the Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.

PIA Oregon/Idaho also gave out several awards acknowledging the contribution of several individuals to the independent agency system and to the PIA.

Officers and accolades are as follows.

Directors are: Wendy Abel-Hatzel of Harry Abel Insurance; Ron Baker of Rhodes-Warden; Tim Bangert of Cascade Insurance Services; Dennis McGanty of Oregon Mutual; Tyrone Snelling of Liberty Northwest; Brian Crawford of Smith and Crakes Insurance; Scott Weaver of Insurance Marketplace; Rich Sorem of Stewart and Tunno Insurance; and Doug Hartley of Hartley Insurance.

Award Winners include: 2008 Oregon/Idaho Agent of the Year Randy Carlton, former PIA Oregon/Idaho president and owner of Cascade Insurance Services; Company Person of the Year Brian Carney of Cochrane & Co.; CSR of the Year Wanda Arlene Aguirre of Fullerton & Co.; Blinders Award Winner Craig Dalton of Oregon Mutual; Chairperson of the Year Kelsey Wood of Gordon Wood Insurance and Financial Services.
