California Man Who Lost Eye to Taser Sues Police For $25M

June 1, 2015

A 31-year-old man has filed a $25 million lawsuit against a California police department, saying he lost his left eye after Fairfield police used a Taser gun on him.

Jerome Hill stated in his complaint that police hit him in his eye, back and thigh with a Taser after they forcibly removed him from a parked car in 2014. The San Francisco Chronicle reported the lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court last week.

The eye was later removed as it had been pulverized, according to the complaint.

LawsuitFairfield police declined to comment, citing a policy of not discussing pending litigation.

Fairfield is in Northern California, midway between Sacramento and San Francisco.
