Utah Hunting Guide Files Suit Against Boy Scouts Following Reckless Shooting

May 9, 2016

A Utah hunting guide is suing the Boy Scouts of America in federal court, claiming someone on a hunting trip he led in 2014 shot him in the eye.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that 61-year-old Craig Bingham filed a lawsuit last week saying he was blinded in one eye by birdshot after the nine people he was leading opened fire on pheasants at a private hunting reserve in Cache County.

Bingham’s lawsuit is against all nine members of the hunting party, the Boy Scouts of America and the BSA’s Trapper Trails Council, which serves northern Utah, southern Idaho and western Wyoming.
